Wow Mali: Lakas Ng Tama – 17 August 2014

 The Philippines got its first taste of unpretentious, candidly-captured-for-TV Filipino humor on May 25, 1996 from reality-based comedy show WoW Mali, hosted by feted comedian Joey De Leon. Inspired by the America’s Funniest Home Videos concept, WoW Mali features a plethora of video footage featuring practical jokes, bloopers and wacky segments, as well as solicited but equally hilarious video clips from the viewers. The actual stars of the show are men on the street – individual Filipinos, caught by the candid camera in bizarre and funny situations.

Matanglawin, literally meaning “Hawk’s Eye” and usually contracted as Mata, is the official student newspaper of the Ateneo de Manila University in the Filipino language. The student paper dedicates itself to discussing socio-political events in the Philippines, the plight and suffering of the working class, as well as pressing student rights issues. It is part of the Ateneo’s Confederation of Publications (COP), including The GUIDON and Heights.[1], which is published bi-monthly (formerly quarterly). br>br>From a circulation of a few mimeographed copies hidden in books at the Rizal Library in the 1970s, Matanglawin is now published in glossy form and has a circulation of more than 2,000, serving the Loyola Schools community. Copies of the publication are also sent to student publications across the Philippines, serving as an inspiration and guide to journalists and creative writers using the Filipino language as their medium.

TV Patrol Weekend – 17 August 2014

TV Patrol first aired on weekends as an occasional special broadcast. Its first weekend broadcast in May 2004 featured news about the battle between the American forces and the Taliban-led Afghan forces during the Afghan War. It also covered the Oakwood mutiny on July 27, 2003.

The weekend editions premiered on Sunday, May 9, 2004 as TV Patrol Sabado and TV Patrol Linggo with Ces Oreña-Drilon and Henry Omaga-Diaz as its first anchors. It in time replaced ABS-CBN Weekend News as ABS-CBN’s sole weekend newscast. During this period, the weekend editions used to occupy middle evening time slots between 8pm and 10pm. Ces Oreña-Drilon left the weekend edition for ABS-CBN Insider in 2005, and was replaced by Bernadette Sembrano.

THE BIGGEST LOSER PINOY EDITION DOUBLES - 24 MARCH 2014

The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition: Doubles is an upcoming Philippine reality television that will be aired on ABS-CBN. The show will be the second season of The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition which is based on the The Biggest Loser franchise of the United States. It will be hosted by Iza Calzado, replacing season one host Sharon Cuneta. Joining Calzado are Matteo Guidicelli and Robi Domingo who will be replacing season one game master Derek Ramsay, and will be taking the helm of the show's challenge masters. Domingo will also serve as the show's social media correspondent. Jim Saret will return as one of the professional trainers. However, Chinggay Andrada will not return this season and will be replaced by Toni Saret, the wife of Jim Saret.
